What is The HEARTH System?

HEroic

Things should be cinematic and epic! HEARTH aims to keep the game focused on the heroic actions of a small (or not so small we know how it is) party of adventurers. This means cutting down on the mundane and focusing on the moments where everything hangs in the balance.

Action

Combat and other high intensity situations should be fast and snappy, keeping dice rolls to a minimum without sacrificing player agency or the beautiful chaos that comes from rolling the bones.

Roleplay

At the core of our social pillar is freeform roleplay, with a few framework rules to help guide the conversations and allow for mechanical interaction during tense negotiations.

Travel

From sweeping vistas and claustrophobic caves to erupting volcanoes and scorching deserts, Travel is a fully supported pillar of our game that aims to make the journey as memorable as the destination.

Hobby

And what would all these rules be without a community and friends, by streamlining some actions and implementing team focused abilities we hope to allow for slightly larger tables to come together and tell amazing stories.
